Why Gin & Yang?
Well I have a particular interest in Italian and Asian cuisine which, is a peculiar mix. I wouldn’t say it is fusion cuisine as I like the classics – they’re classics for a reason! But that isn’t to say I don’t like to experiment, I think the best food is your own food. Well, maybe it’s your mum’s food…
My mother is Malaysian so I grew up on a combination of rice, soya sauce, garlic, ginger and oyster sauce. I love asian food it reminds me of when I was growing up. Italian food on the other hand is more of a comfort food, it’s quick and easy. The thing I like best about Italian food is that it is simple. Few Italian dishes are very complicated but subtle changes can make a big difference and above all, Italian food must be cooked well.
Italian and Asian cuisine are my black and white, two very different styles but I love them both. That doesn’t mean I don’t like anything else, but these two are what I find the most fun to cook.
I also have a love for cocktails / mixology. As well as my love of food, I have a love of Gin (and lots of other drinks too) so I thought “Gin & Yang” would be a good way to sum up my duality of cuisines as well as my passion for alcohol.

Yes. That said, I will only endorse it if I actually like it – I like to keep my writing unbiased so I won’t do any shameless marketing of products in return for freebies. I will of course review your product if you ask. At the moment, the sites and products I currently plug on occasion are things I actually use, have liked or just think are a great deal.
